General Director of JV LLC «Sakhalin-Shelf-Service» presented holiday package to Saint-Petersburg to young winner of the competition “Military Album”

On September 4th, in editors office of “Gubernskiye Vedomosti” the meeting of project administrators and sponsors was held. They gathered to announce the winners of patriotic competition “Military Album” and present awards to them.  One of the sponsors was JV LLC “Sakhalin-Shelf-Service”. “Military Album” competition was devoted to 70th anniversary of Victory and releasing of South Sakhalin and Kuril Islands. The competition took place from February to April 2015.   During this time, citizens of Sakhalin sent 23 projects, which were published in “Gubernskiye Vedomosti” newspaper and on “Sakhalin-the Kurils” Information Agency website (section “Special Projects”).  From August 18th-to August 30th there was online voting, which helped to select winners.

The main prize from JV LLC “Sakhalin-Shelf-Service” was the trip to Saint Petersburgh and it was given to 11 year old girl Arina Botova from Ado-Tymovo settlement.  She presented a story about her countryman Vasiliy Leontievich Derbish was highly appraized by participants of voting.  The prize was given by JV LLC “Sakhalin-Shelf-Service” general director Katsev Leonid Ilyich. He congratulated Arina and notified that it is somehow symbolic that such young girl became the winner.   

- When we speak about World War II, our main target is to keep the memory about victory of Russian people in the hearts and minds of all post-war generations. Such stories of young people is the best example that such memory is still alive,  – Katsev L.I.. noted.   

Two other runners-up were also presented with tours to Sevastopol and Volgograd. Participants and winners of the competition thanked project administrators and sponsors for such interesting event and expressed their hope to gather all stories in one book and present it to Local Lore museums and Libraries of Sakhalin region.
